I have always been fascinated by the world of haute horology because it expresses beauty and precision craftsmanship alike, and because of the extraordinary people behind each and every timepiece. Genius is a tribute to Gerald Genta’s legacy, his unparalleled talent for creating the most iconic watches of all time. With all due respect to the maestro, I wanted to create something new and truly unique. Genius is a design collision, an art-form coming to light from the cosmic impact of shapes. History of Art was built on disobedience and it’s an artist’s duty to provoke the world in order to change it. An artist is a rebel who challenges his time by proposing the unthinkable. His ideas must be unsettling, his opus a scandal. It’s not work, but collision he must seek. Matter, energy, and time came to life through a clash of opposite forces, and Inspiration is no different. Call it controversy if you wish.
